We went to Gilroy Gardens Saturday night. The key word for the evening was COLD. It is harder to appreciate festive lighting decorations when <fill in clever part here...I'm spoiled by the Bay Area weather>. Nick got a kick out of seeing "steam" come out of his nose.

Skating at the open air rink didn't go well; Nick needed a couple more pairs of socks to make the rental-skates fit. This resulted in a promise to take him ice skating again, plus a rash promise to skate *with* him. This has disaster written all over it.

I've recently discovered fark.com, a good way to get my desire to argue with people fulfilled. I'm sure there was a nicer way to frame that self-description but that was accurate. I miss those nights of sitting at a Denny's, talking about how we would solve the world's problems if we were in charge. It should have been a clue that we didn't even agree with each other.

    hello me
and hello world, if anyone else ever reads this. I actually created a Live Journal account because it lets me see what is happening with friends I've lost touch with. Then I discovered a local interest group for Fremont so it is becoming more useful.

This reminds me of why I don't write "what-happened-to-us-this-year" letters. Time flies when your life revolves around family...you find yourself getting older but w/o entertaining stories...how many times do other people want to hear about how your kid is doing in school?

    Checking out for now.
